In memory of Ian Ogle and Gareth Keys
The Loyal East Belfast was established in 2020 to honour the memory of two cherished local friends, Ian Ogle and Gareth Keys. Since then, the band has become a proud feature of East Belfast’s cultural life, marching in six parades each year while playing traditional loyalist tunes.
Deeply rooted in the community that supports them so faithfully, the band is committed not only to musical tradition but also to giving back. Through regular community events and charitable work, they strengthen local bonds and support those in need.
Community activities
- Annual Christmas dinner for local pensioners
- Annual Christmas party for children
- Charity football tournament, with the winning team choosing the beneficiary charity
- Ongoing donations to local and national causes, including the Lee Rigby Foundation and Beyond the Battlefield
By performing at parades across the country, The Loyal East Belfast proudly showcases the spirit, heritage, and identity of East Belfast through music, while continuing to serve and uplift the community they represent.
